Lima Baptist Church has been perched high on a hilltop in northern Greenville County since 1855. It is the symbolic “little country church” sung about in many Gospel songs.
For travelers driving up or down Highways 11 or 25, Lima Baptist Church simply is a “pretty little country church on a hill.”
But for countless people in northern Greenville County, Lima Baptist Church represents so much more. It has been the tool God has used to change numerous lives forever. No one will ever know for certain how many people have come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as a result of the ministry and outreach of Lima Baptist Church. Lima Baptist Church is not just a building. It is the people who have attended the church for nearly 154 years. Many members have come and gone; others have gone on to be with our Lord in Heaven. Their legacy remains through the present membership of Lima Baptist Church who is still sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ across northern Greenville County.
